DAY 01 \u2013 BENTOTA \u2013 MIRISSA \u2013 UDAWALAWE<\/h3>\n

Early in the morning (4 am) leave for Mirissa for Whale watching.<\/strong>
\nWhale and dolphin watching are exciting and unique activities for Mirissa Water Sports and are the first and
\nLongest established whale-watching operator on the south coast of Sri Lanka. The frequent sightings all year
\nRound has put Sri Lanka and the Mirissa area on the world\u2019s \u2018Top Hot Spots\u2019 for sperm and blue whale sightings.

DAY 02 \u2013 UDAWALAWE JEEP SAFARI \u2013 BENTOTA<\/h3>\n

After breakfast visit Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home.<\/strong>
\nThe main objective of this facility is rehabilitation of orphaned baby elephants to ultimately release them back into
\ntheir natural habitat. Up to three elephants per week are killed in Sri Lanka due to conflicts with humans, often
\nleaving behind orphan calves. The elephants are kept at part of the Udawalawe National Park to maintain familiarity
\nwith their habitat but have access to both food and medical care. All care at the facility is by trained staff, and efforts
\nare made to minimize contact between elephants and humans to keep the elephants from becoming acclimated to
\nhumans. Although visitors can watch the elephants being fed, they are not allowed to touch or otherwise interact
\nwith them.<\/p>\n

Commence a Jeep Safari in Udawalawe National Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Udawalawe National Park<\/strong>\u00a0lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The national
\npark was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe reservoir on the
\nWalawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares of land area
\nand was established on 30 June 1972. The park is 165 kilometers from Colombo. Udawalawe is an important habitat
\nfor water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
