DAY 01 AIRPORT – COLOMBO<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Arrive in Sri Lanka. Clients will be met by our representative on arrival and transferred to Colombo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Commence a city tour of Colombo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

City tour of Colombo<\/strong> \u2013 like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face.
\nAlmost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the
\nold-world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British-
\nbuilt colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar \u2013 where one can shop for
\nbargains, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple (Gangarama), Independent squire, Galle Face Green,
\nHaber, and the residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent.<\/p>\n

DAY 02 COLOMBO – KANDY<\/h4>\n

After breakfast leave for Kandy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kandy,<\/strong> the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is
\nan example of Buddhism\u2019s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple\u2019s shrines and monasteries keep
\nalive Buddhist traditions are everywhere. In the afternoon commence a city tour of Kandy, including
\nUpper Lake Drive, Market Square, and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.<\/p>\n

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic<\/strong>.\u00a0Ever since the 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha\u2019s Tooth was
\nbrought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orison princess\u2019 hair, the Relic has
\ngrown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri
\nLanka\u2019s most prized possession. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic has been declared a World
\nHeritage site by UNESCO.<\/p>\n

DAY 03 KANDY – SIGIRIYA ROCK – MATALE – KANDY<\/h4>\n

After Breakfast leave for Sigiriya &amp; climb Sigiriya Rock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sigiriya<\/strong>\u00a0today is a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best-preserved examples of
\nancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka. King Kassapa (477-495 A.D)
\nwho shifted the Capital from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya made a fortress to surround his palace,
\nwhich was constructed on the summit of a 500ft high rock, with the necessary facilities. The Palace
\nwas surrounded by an outer moat and wall and Inner \u2013 moat and Wall, a pleasure garden, a Mirror-
\nwall, and light-colored and dark-colored damsel\u2019s frescoes, to cover the western wall and a
\nbeautiful staircase through the body of a Crouching Lion some of the attractions here. The boulder
\ngarden consists of caves where Buddhist Bhikkus lived and meditated. After Kassapa Sigiriya was
\ngiven back once again to the Bhikkus. Afternoon return to Kandy visiting Hindu Kovil in Matale. Sri
\nMuthumari Amman Hindu Kovil, situated in the historic town of Matale is a very religious Hindu
\nshrine in Sri Lanka. About 200 years ago this kovil was established by the Indian Hindu community
\nespecially the South Indian traders who lived and did business in the town and estates around
\nMatale.<\/p>\n

Spice Garden at Matale<\/strong> and see the luscious, Cinnamons, Cardamoms, Pepper plants,
\netc. You can also purchase your requirements of spices.<\/p>\n

DAY 04 KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA – KANDY<\/h4>\n

After breakfast travel to Nuwara Eliya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nuwara Eliya<\/strong> The \u2018Little England\u2019 of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys,
\nWaterfalls, and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but it is just
\nlike an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya, you
\nwill see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann-style mansions.
\nVisit a Tea Plantation &amp; a Tea Factory.<\/p>\n

Thereafter Leave for Kandy by Train.\u00a0(Second Class). You can enjoy the scenic drive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

DAY 05 KANDY – PERADENIYA – BENTOTA<\/h4>\n

After Breakfast visit Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Royal Botanical Gardens<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the
\nKings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. Some rare and endemics
\nas well as flora from the tropical World. Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourists.<\/p>\n

After the Botanical Garden Leave for Bentota in the afternoon at leisure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

DAY 06 BENTOTA SINHARAJA TREKKING – BENTOTA<\/h4>\n

05 am or after breakfast trekking in the Sinharaja Rainforest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sinharaja Forest<\/strong> Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of
\ninternational significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site
\nby UNESCO. The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests ecoregion, was
\nsaved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility and was designated a World
\nBiosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. The reserve\u2019s name translates as
\nKingdom of the Lion.<\/p>\n

Thereafter Leave for Bentota in the afternoon at leisure.<\/strong><\/p>\n
