DAY 01 \u2013 BENTOTA \u2013 KANDY \u2013 NUWARA ELIYA<\/h4>\n

After breakfast visit Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya.<\/strong> The Royal Botanical Gardens \u2013 147 acres in
\nextent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of trees and
\nplants. Some rare and endemics as well as flora from the tropical World. Spice Garden and Orchid House are
\npopular with tourist\u2019s.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon commence city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive,<\/strong> Market Square and the
\nTemple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha\u2019s
\nTooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orisons princess\u2019 hair, the Relic has grown in
\nrepute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka\u2019s most prized
\npossession. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic had been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.<\/p>\n

Leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route Visit a Tea Plantation & Factory.<\/strong> Sight walk to the city area. Nuwara Eliya \u2013 180 km\u2019s from Colombo, 6200ft. above sea level. In 1826 some British Officers 1828 a road constructed over the ridge at Ramboda Pass and a station for convalescent Soldiers was established was Sir Samuel Baker who fell under the spell of Nuwara Eliya, brought hounds,horses, cattle, sheep etc; and started a typical English farm here. Flowers and vegetable were brought from England and planted.<\/p>\n

After breakfast leave for Ella.<\/strong> Visit the Nine Arch Bridge. And leave to commence a Jeep Safari in Udawalawe National Park a<\/p>\n

Udawalawe National Park<\/strong> lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The
\nnational park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the
\nUdawalawe reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. The reserve covers
\n30,821 hectares of land area and was established on 30 June 1972. The park is 165 kilometers from Colombo. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants. It is a popular tourist
\ndestination and the third most visited park in the country.<\/p>\n
